Before your Augmentation Procedure
During your consultation, Dr. Groves will discuss your surgical options, including the different incisions, types and sizes of implants available, and the pros and cons to each choice. With your input an appropriate surgical plan will be formulated that is unique to your individual circumstances.
Saline or Silicone Implants?
There are many options when it comes to breast implants. Dr. Joshua Groves will discuss implant size with you and help you make a decision that fits your life. Dr. Groves will also share the benefits and drawbacks of saline implants and the latest generation of silicone gel implants.
While saline has been around for over 3 decades as an implant option, the latest silicone gel implants represent a true innovation. These breast implants contain a cohesive silicone gel that can give your breasts a very natural look and feel. In fact, most women choose silicone gel over saline for this reason. No matter which implant type you choose, Dr. Groves has the surgical expertise to achieve a natural looking result.
Breast Implants Surgery
Breast Augmentation surgery is performed in a hospital or ambulatory surgery center under general anesthesia. An incision is made in the fold below your breast or around the pigmented portion of your nipple called the areola. After the dissection, the implant is placed. The surgery typically takes 1- 2 hours and you are sent home the same day.
You will be placed in a bra to be worn home after surgery. The bra helps with positioning of your implants and post-op comfort.
Breast Augmentation Recovery
Discomfort after your breast implant surgery is managed with oral pain medications and close follow up will be performed by Dr. Groves. No sutures have to be removed since the sutures typically will be absorbable.
Patients typically return to work 1 week after their operation and aerobic exercise can be restarted one month after surgery.
Your new breasts will achieve their final shape/ position approximately 2 to 3 months after your surgery. For more information about Breast Augmentation call the Georgia Center at 478-254-6608 to schedule your consultation.
